FAQ - Common Problems and Troubleshooting
My germanium fuzz pedal will not turn on at all:
Please ensure that your germanium fuzz device is hooked up to a dedicated 9V DC (center negative) power brick (or a 9V battery with DC adapter). Our germanium Fuzz pedals are positive ground and will not work on a power station, or a daisy chain that has negatively ground devices.
My pedal lights up, but I hear no sound:
Please ensure that the audio cables you are using are good. If you get a no sound through when the true bypass is on, or when the pedal is activated, test with different cables.
If you get clean sound through when the bypass is on, but no sound when the pedal is activated, please contact support@dumondamps.com
I have high frequency noise when using the pedal:
This is almost always due to a poor power supply, or daisy chaining. Please try your device with it being the only pedal in the chain (guitar to pedal, direct to amp). If you still encounter noise, try another power supply. Quality transformer based, filtered and regulated power supplies are recommended.
When I turn one knob on my pedal, nothing changes:
Do you hear a crackling noise when this happens? If so, this could be a bad potentiometer. Please contact support@dumondamps.com
Is your gain all the way up? If so, please reduce the gain and then adjust the setting on the knob in question to see if you hear a difference. Some controls on certain pedals are subtle and for very fine tuning of tone. When distortion gains are maxed, you may be drowning out the audible difference certain controls impart.
I hear a pop when i press the footswitch:
This is usually an impedance issue.
Please try your device with it being the only pedal in the chain (guitar to pedal, direct to amp). No more more pop? Good, move to 2. If a pop still happens, contact support@dumondamps.com
First, try the first step and isolate it and see if that took care of it. If the pop is gone after step 1, then the cause is another pedal in your chain that is causing impedance issues. Try swapping pedal positions on your board to eliminate the impedance problem. Also, check all cables, as they can cause this issue as well.
